Male Liposuction
Women for the most part have dominated the cosmetic and aesthetic market place, while men traditionally have resistant aesthetic surgery and procedures. Cultural influences and the male ego/belief system that they remain forever young and good looking, also play a role and reason men don’t seek elective surgical procedures. In these economic uncertain times, however, a younger and more competitive work force forces older men to compete in the job market place.
As a result, the current trend in cosmetic surgery reflects men are concerned more and more with their physical outward appearance. The most common procedure men have performed is removal of fat from their love handles and chin and neck areas. These fatty areas are resistant to exercise and weight loss programs and as a result make men look older and out of shape.
With the dawn of the twenty-first (21st) century comes many new medical information about the need of men to replace endogenous hormones, and reduce cardiovascular disease such as heart attacks and strokes. Medical literature strongly suggests that weight loss is extremely important. As men experience weight loss they find their skin is more relaxed and loose. This excess skin laxity and looseness is because the underlying fat pad acts as a support for these areas. Weight loss in these areas frequently results in sagging skin.
